Nero d'Avola Doc
Nero d’Avola Doc
"An ancient grape variety for a modern wine"
Nero d'Avola also known as Calabrese is the most representative red grape variety in Sicily. Ruby red wine, vitified and aged exclusively in stainless steel to maintain the characteristics of the grape unaltered.
It has an intense ruby red color.
On the olfactory examination it gives notes of cherry in alcohol, plums and blackberries surrounded by hints of black pepper, black olives and ink.
On the palate it is soft and enveloping, full but with a crunchy finish due to the medium evolved tannins.
Ideal for combinations of red meats, elaborate sauces and cheeses with a strong taste.
The harvest takes place in the second ten days of September. Once harvested and mashed, the grapes are left to macerate on the bowls throughout the fermentation period to allow maximum extraction of the color. Aging takes place exclusively in stainless steel tanks for a period of about six months.
